TOP STORY

ANTHROPIC

What Claude's hidden watermark means for your writing

AI Chat Daily reports that starting November 3, Claude's invisible text watermark now covers four older models: Claude Mythos 5, Opus 4.7, Opus 4.6 and Sonnet 4.6. Newer models like Opus 5.5 already had it.

The details:

  • The mark is a hidden pattern in the words Claude picks, with no hidden characters and no extra cost.

  • It carries no information about you, your company or your chats.

  • The help page says the mark travels with copy and paste and may survive some editing.

  • It works the same in the Claude app, the API, Claude Code and Cowork, and customers cannot switch it off.

  • For now, only groups like regulators, media, fact-checkers and researchers can use the text detection tool.

What it means for you: If Claude writes your posts, emails or client work, assume that text can be traced back to AI. The help page says a found mark "is not fully conclusive," and even proofreading can leave one. So use Claude as a helper, then add your own stories and words.

AI FOR BUILDERS

CLAUDE CODE

Karpathy built his own YouTube in 2 hours with Claude Code

Andrej Karpathy got tired of his YouTube feed, so he asked Claude Code to build a better one. About 2 hours later he had HackerTube, a YouTube style site filled only with videos people recommended on Hacker News.

The details:

  • Claude downloaded every Hacker News comment and used Sonnet to remove spam, leaving 40K comments that recommend a video.

  • That gave 6,454 videos from 2007 to 2026 across 150 topics.

  • The site shows a frame from the middle of each video instead of the clickbait thumbnail.

  • There are no accounts, and your For You picks are saved in your own browser.

  • His only hands-on jobs were a Google Cloud key, starting a server and buying the domain.

What it means for you: You no longer need to code to build a useful site. You need a clear idea, good data and the patience to keep asking the AI for fixes.

TRY THIS TODAY

How to turn a list you love into a simple website

Karpathy started with a list he trusted. You can do the same on a smaller scale.

  1. Pick a list you already care about, like favorite recipes, local hikes or the best videos in your niche.

  2. Put it in a spreadsheet with one row per item and columns like title, link and category.

  3. Open an AI app builder like Lovable, or Claude Code if you are comfortable with it.

  4. Paste the prompt below and upload or paste your list.

  5. Click through every page and ask for one fix at a time. Skip logins for now, like Karpathy did.

  6. Share the link with 3 friends and ask what they would add.

Build a simple, clean website from the list I am sharing. Each item has a title, link and category. Give me a home page with cards, a filter for each category, a search bar and a "surprise me" button. No logins. Make it look good on phones. Ask me any questions before you start.

TOOLS WORTH A LOOK

  • Claude Content Checker: Free tool that checks if an image, video or audio file carries a Claude credential. Your file never leaves your device.

  • Hume Audio Decision API: Ask plain questions about a recording, like "Does the caller sound frustrated?" and get answers with a confidence score.

  • Runway Dev plugins: One install lets Claude Code, Codex or Cursor build Runway video and image features into your app.

  • LLM 0.37: Simon Willison's free command line tool now adds GPT-6.1 models and an easy way to add other models.

QUICK HITS

OpenAI raised its bug bounty rewards
A critical bug in ChatGPT, Codex or the API can now earn up to $30,000. Help Net Security reports top payouts can reach $172,000 with bonuses.

OpenAI made a test for everyday life tasks
LifeVal checks how well AI handles jobs like caregiving, health, shopping and government services. OpenAI built it from time use studies and a survey of 3,995 people.

PROMPT OF THE DAY

Paste this into Claude or ChatGPT with any AI draft, so the final version sounds like you:

Here is a draft. Do not rewrite it yet. First, ask me 5 questions about my own experience with this topic, like a story, a mistake I made or a result I saw. Then show me where my answers fit best in the draft. I will add them in my own words. Draft: [paste it here]

Your real stories are the part no AI can make up for you.

FROM MY CHANNEL

What is the real difference between an AI agent and a chatbot? In this quick one I use a dental office getting a call at 9 PM to show it. A chatbot gives information. An agent takes action, like booking the appointment and sending the text. Watch "AI Agents vs. Chatbots: Here's the REAL Difference"

ONE MORE THING

If HackerTube got you thinking about building your own app, I'm hosting a free live MakerAI workshop this Thursday, November 5 at 12:00 PM MT. I'll show how to find a software idea people want, build it live with AI and hand the marketing to an AI agent. It's free, with no credit card. Save your seat

Nobody's coming to approve your idea

People assume that real businesses get built by other people with more resources. It's how great ideas get stuck in notes apps and conversations.

But you don't need six months and a developer's salary to validate your concept. You just need a weekend. Describe what you want to exist and Lovable builds it: a real site, a real product, ready to accept real payments from real customers. Not a mockup to show people. An actual thing they can use.

You don't need anyone's sign-off to get started. Take $5 off your first month.

Discount of $5 applies to first month of any paid plan. You need to sign up via this webpage in order to claim the discount. The discount applies to new and returning users without an active paid plan. Terms apply.

THAT'S ALL FOR TODAY
